A Simple Girl in a Complex World

Hey guys I need your help!

 I can’t think of anything to get J’s younger brothers & sisters for Christmas.

They range in ages from 15-4 they like candy, beef jerky and simple little toys like games and puzzles and I believe they like books. There are 3 boys and 2 girls.

 Also something for his parents, I’d like it to be a joint gift. So something simple that both a husband and wife could enjoy!

Any help would be appreciated!

Well it’s almost time for Christmas Exodus and I could not be more excited! I’m pretty freakin miserable right now between not getting to talk to J. for almost 2 weeks to stressing about school grades. I’m tellin ya I need this vacation & time w/ J.

 So here are all the things I need to get done before the 19th

1. Get all my Christmas shopping done (still have mom, J’s parents, and brothers and sisters)

2. Get all those presents wrapped!

3.Clean the house (because it needs it REALLY bad)

4. Get Christmas cards wrote and mailed off on Monday

5.Do Laundry (I think this may need to be done worse than cleaning)

That would be all of it! I hope I can get it all done before he gets here!

I can’t wait to see him! I’m so excited! It would make my day to just even talk to him! That would be great!

Keep prayin for me I’m still waiting on the grade I was worried about! So far I’ve gotten 1 A 1 B and 1 C I’m waiting on the Math grade (if I get a D I can roudn out the ABC’s but lets not do that shall we!)

Well I’ve been studying for finals ever since Tuesday of this past week and my brain is just fried honestly. My first final which is for Math 109 (the one that I’m really worried about) is on Tuesday & my Anatomy final is on Thursday (which I’m not so worried about). I’m stressin to the hilt about it and I’m just ready for it all to be over!

But my promise is that once finals are over this blog is gettin a makeover! I’m gonna try and figure out how to make my own layouts and stuff to make it more pretty! I’m gonna add some music, more links, and my current book I’m reading!

I went Christmas shopping today and bought a few presents I have quite a few people to shop for this year and many more than I’ve ever had to in the past! I’d say its about 15-20 people! WOW! I think I’m going to end up making some of them! Atleast 10 of them! It shouldnt be bad it will keep me occupied while J. is gone. But I did get J’s present and I’m very excited to give it to him! I got him the Xbox 360 Halo 3 special edition version! He’s said he wanted it ever since it came out and I got it! I cant wait to see his face! Even though he already knows about it! But owel he used his Army tactics to figure out what I was getting him….(DARN YOU ARMY)….ok I didnt mean that! I love the army! LOL.

Well I got this idea off of one of my friends on myspace (who is a wonderful photographer btw you guys should definately check her out! I’ll put her link at the bottom of this post!)

So I always have a hard time coming up with things I want for Christmas or gifts in general! So I thought I’d kind of make a electronic christmas list of sorts! I know no one in my family will see it maybe not even any of my friends (depends on who actually pays attention enough to read my blog and cares enough to spend some of their day checking it out!) I dont care I love blogging it is my new creative outlet!

So here it is…..All I Want for Christmas is…..

1. A sewing machine…..I’ve always wanted to learn to sew and I’m too impatient to learn to do it by hand so I asked for a sewing machine! I want to make all sorts of things for my house like pillows, quilts, napkins, etc!

2. TomTomGO! Yeah I want this thing. Some of you know me well enough to know that I am HORRIBLE absolutely HORRIBLE at giving directions or following directions so I thought this would be nice to help me get around places. This will come in especially handy when I’m traveling back and fourth between here & Alabama throughout the next year & a half!

3. A new cell phone…yeah mine is POC (peice of crap) and I’ve had it for almost 3 years so I believe it’s time for a new one!

4. Canon SD850 digital camera….this is going to be my Christmas/Birthday gift to myself. I researched for a long time to find a new one that I was willing to pay for that had the features I wanted and this one hit the nail right on the head! I spent hours reading customer reviews and this is the one I chose! (I wrote a blog about it below! I can’t help it I’m so excited about it!

5. Books…..I asked for quite a few books of all kinds. So here is a list of them all:

a. Martha Stewart’s Homekeeping Handbook: I want this because I just moved into my own house for the very first time and it’s full of great information for a first time homeowner or living on your own for the first time (which is me!)

b. Teach yourself Crocheting Visually: I tried to learn last year around Christmas and got fursterated because it wasnt coming out right so I found this book and thought it might help…this is one of the many projects I’m taking on while J. is gone to keep me busy!

c.In Stitches by Amy Butler: As I mentioned above I want a sewing machine and since I’ve never used one before I need things to learn how to use it on and this book is full of patterns and really cute stuff for the house & yourself like purses, quilts, curtains, place mats, and ALOT more!

d. Bending the Rules of Sewing by Amy Karol: also another book full of great patterns along the same lines as the stuff in the other book but different also….this book seems to be “hip” like trying to reach out toward the younger generations which is great!

e.I asked for quite a few cookbooks mostly Sandra Lee’s Semi-Homemade series because it’s great to make homemade stuff but also a hassle for a busy girl like myself so I thought these would be great for me especially since I’m learning to cook! I also asked for a couple of cook books geared toward couples. Me & J. always enjoyed cooking together while he was home and I hope that we can do alot more of it once he comes home!

f.Smart couples finish rich by David Bach: J. takes finances very seriously. I’ve always been kind of a spender when I had money in my hand I had to spend it, it litterally burnt a hole in my pocket! But since dating J. I’ve become more of a saver. I hardly buy anything that is unnecessary (well ok thats kind of a lie) but it’s definately not as bad as I used to be! I belive this book will help me to realize how much saving money and being a responsible spender will help us in the future!

g. I also asked for a couple of photography books. I’ve always been interested in photography and I’ll be the first to admitt I dont know the first thing about it. So I thought these books would help me. One is a general book for anyone and the other is a textbook for an actual photography class so I thought it would be a great read!

6. I asked for a few CDs such as Carrie Underwood’s new one Carnival Ride & Rascal Flatts Still feels good & Colbie Caillat’s Coco all great CDs that I’ve previewed! I love the whole disc so that is why I’m willing to buy them!

Well that’s my list! I’ll let yall in on my loot after Christmas! I hope you all get what you asked for!

Well I got my last call earlier this evening…..

It made me sad. I’ve never gone two weeks without talking to him. I miss him so much already and he’s only been gone for 3 days!

Owell there is nothing I can, and sitting and sulking about it isnt going to change anything or make the time go by any faster. All I can do is keep my head on my shoulders and concentrate on other things. Also I really hope he’ll send me a letter. I told him to draw me a picture just so I could have his address to write him a letter.

I should have plenty to do within the next two weeks. I have to get my Christmas shopping done, I have finals next week so I need to study really hard for those, then I’ve got some various little things to do such as scrapbook that would be fun! I havent scrapbooked in so long I hate it!

But until then….

Well the day I’ve been dreading for months has finally arrived! J left today for Flight School. He will be gone for 14-16 months (possibly longer depending on holds). The only thing keeping me from breaking down right now is that I know I will see him again in 17 days for Christmas Exodus.

I honestly hope this is the hardest thing we have to go through together. I never want him to deploy; I would honestly be a wreck every day that he was gone. Although I know that I will be a wreck after the Christmas exodus waiting to go down to AL to go see him again.

I’m trying to keep myself busy. Which I know I will not have a problem with this. I have 4 tests just this week that knocks an entire 7 days off! Then I have finals next week so I’ll be busy studying for those; also I have plenty of little crafts to keep me busy, decorating the house for Christmas (which is mostly already done I’ll take some pictures to post); filling out Christmas cards (if you want one let me know!) Then also getting all my shopping and wrapping of gifts done! I’ll be ok!

I have a lot of great friends who are helping me out and other girls who know exactly what I’m going through! I thank god for you girls every night! I love you all!


PS: Sorry I’ve been a bad blogger lately I’ve been really busy with school but after finals there will be quite a few enteries!
