A Simple Girl in a Complex World

Yeah that’s right I blame it on Lucy! What do I blame on Lucy you ask? Well what not many people know about me is that I love being what I like to call “domestic”. You know like cooking, cleaning, taking care of my husband and children (well except for the fact that I don’t have a husband and children). I love to clean and cook because it actually makes me feel useful! I also like how in all the older TV shows (like I love Lucy for example) how the women who are housewives constantly look perfect. Now some of you women reading this might be saying “what are you thinking?! Are you crazy!?” well no actually I’m not crazy I just like to look well put together at all times, and when I’m not it drives me insane! I like how they wore dresses and high heels to vaccum and put on make up and fixed their hair just to wash dishes and do laundry all day!

I long to be like that! I love to craft and make things. I would love to learn to sew and knit just as these women did in the TV shows. They seemed to live such a simple life. But some women believe that they just lived to please their husbands, and I believe this isnt true! I would love to live like this! I believe that a woman should live to please her husband but he should also live to please her just the same. I love it when me and my boyfriend clean our house together or do dishes or he helps me prepared dinner. If I had enough money to have my hair, nails perfectly polished and makeup done everyday and buy the nice dresses I would! I think these shows are the reason I want an apron, you know the cute little white aprons that they tied around their waste as they cleaned! YEAH I want one! I want my house to look perfect at all times and never have a time where I would have to run around stuffing things in closets just so someone could come over and visit. They could just drop by anytime they like. I also wanna have dinner parties and have Thanksgiving and Christmas in my own home, and I personally cannot wait for the day that I can do that! I actually get excited about it!

Yeah I may only be 20 (almost 21) but these are things I’ve loved since I was young. I watched I love Lucy, Bewitched, Leave it to Beaver, etc. Everyday when I was little. I still watch Lucy when it’s on! So call me crazy if you like but ya know what I like the simple lifestyle they lead and I wish to lead mine just the same! I cant wait to get married, and buy my first house and decorate and keep it clean and cook my family meals, and to meet my husband at the door with a kiss everyday when he comes home from work! That would be my career, to be a housewife. But as I’ve come to the conclusion I easily become bored with the same routine everyday, so I needed something to add a bit of spice to my life so that is why I’ve choosen to major in Radiography. Maybe one day I can be like Lucy!

Well it’s not a big change but it’s something. I haven’t had my hair this long ever not in all my life! I kind of like it this long or longer because I can do more with it. It will actually curl with it this long. The only change I made at this time was adding some side bangs because well I have an unusually high forehead and I think this minimizes it. I really like my new hair.

Maybe this will inspire me to do more for myself since I really dont. I’m also considering a new hair color. Light brown maybe? Definately not blonde, I just want something different but not too different. It’s kind of like when I got the blonde highlights last year. I feel like it’s about time for something new again. I seem to always do this around my birthday. Maybe it’s a thing about new year, new me. I seem to like to accomplish one goal a year, and change atleast one thing slightly in my looks. It always makes me feel renewed and refreshed ready for a new year and being a new age!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Well as I said it is Saturday and what am I doing?! Sitting here at work! I’ve been here since 8:45AM and been up since 8AM! IT’S SATURDAY FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!! Well you know I really shouldnt complain so much, as I said in my previous post; I have one of the easiest best jobs I could ever ask for! After all, what job would honestly allow you to sit here and blog to millions of people and play on myspace all day or even just do your homework rather than making you do some mundane task that doesnt get you anywhere? I love my job! It is helping me further my education while allowing me to pay my bills! How freakin great is that!?

Anyways! It’s looking ot be a busy day/weekend/week ahead for me! Lets take a look at this list of “to do’s” shall we?

Today:
Work 9-3PM
Possibly have lunch with a couple of friends(?)
Go get my hair cut!
Go to parents house to spend the rest of the weekend
Write the boyfriend a few letters!
Take some pictures for certain projects
Do something for me (what I like to call “me time”)
*Homework*
1.Do anantomy chapters 3-4 reviews along with other pages assigned
2.Study for anatomy test on Thursday
3.Read all I need to read to be able to complete my Developmental Psych quiz
4.Four sections of math homework still left to be completed by Wednesday
5.Take home math quiz to be completed by Thursday
6.Two sections of typing lessons to do (one due Monday the other Thursday)

Now that is just today! Mind you I do not have to get all of that homework done today! Just in a reasonable amount of time to have it all done by the due dates, but to also allow me a substantial amount of time to study for my anatomy test!

All in all it’s not so bad! I have plenty of time to get all of this done, the math home work is not due until the end of October, but that doesnt mean I can slack on it. As I also said in my previous post I’m a HORRIBLE procrastinator and if I put something off I’ll either have to rush to do it or it wont get done at all or it will be less that substantial work! I am trying to put my procrastinating ways behind me, we’ll see how this goes!
